Not sure how long this surfing session will last, because I'm getting bored with linking the soccer (can just say the result, Greece beat France OMG), but this is an interesting one - woman who was diagnosed with cancer, and made a few embryos with her partner before getting treatment and being infertile has been refused to use the embryos now because her partner is now an ex and refuses permission. Sad sad, and is part of the IVF embryo legislation in the UK - like her lawyer said, normal conception women don't need the guys permission to keep the baby. And not only is the ex refusing permission but he wants the embryos destroyed as well. Eh, goes to show the modern day permanence of relationships.
Wow, Barbara Streisand and Neil Diamond sang together for the first time since the Carter Administration. Part of the Hollywood fundraiser for Kerry - had Billy Crystal, Ben Affleck, Leo Dicaprio, Willie Nelson and a host of others LOL. On the other side of the fence, the Republicans are going to close down part of Manhattan during their conference in August. That will be so convenient, and just wondering when US politicians were last allowed to meet the actual public rather than just a screened minority. Eh, probably since someone tried to take out Reagan. Hmm, and where did the figure the convention will benefit NYC by $250 million come from? Is that $249 million that's going to be fundraised and one mill for the city LOL?
Eh, gotta go before I bore myself
Laterz
Paul
