Random Websites 26 thru 50

Hmm 26 days til sovereignty turnover in Iraq, 70 days til the Athen Olympics, umm 153 until the US election and err 24 til Decision Canada LOL. Onwards and upwards eh –

Hmm this is confuzzling – has a picture of Destiny’s Child on the front page, but talking about Independent Women – oh, is it the site for that song a couple years ago – further investigation required. Oh, weirder and weirder, has the lyrics and piccies associated with the lyrics but after every phrase there are piccies of Alf Garnett (Brit version of Archie Bunker) all over. Hmm, more further investigation, let’s go to the home page… ah, is a weblog, the type with lots of links, last updated in February. Has a Gay Bar Kitten link? Hmm, taking too long to load, and have done the front page thing, so next! Oh, lol weird weird weird, just before I clicked off it, has singing hedgehogs talking about rude bits – shaking my head here LOL…

First weblog of the day. Recently updated as well, yesterday, or today or whatever it is with timezones – is American, talking about Memorial Day… Bay Area (that’s San Francisco Bay LOL) freelance editor and writer (aren’t we all), and has ‘alphabetacized’ (need a spell check on aisle three there) – umm, I musta done a bad job, ‘sorted out’ in other words, her fave movies – some good choices there. But she has 2001 A Space Odyssey down in the average ranks?? OK, I’ve got to give this girl some feedback – be right back…  just saw a very good entry about leather pants in her best post section.

Wow, that link was interesting in it’s length. Not often I see the minus mark all the way over on that side of the page (Word spacing, if it doesn’t come up on the diary page LOL. So yeah, basically this is the Virgin Mobile sponsored entry page into Salon dot com. Do I feel like going in, hmm I know it’s a political page, lol get enough of that in my NORMAL websurfing. Eh, what’s the worst that can happen I subscribe to Virgin Phones? Follow me men! Well, that wasn’t too painful, now into Salon… what’s up today? Israeli PM fires two ministers, Sharpton to be a commentator (SCARY), South Dakotan representative wins by-election and has five months to make an impression before November is the next election – yawn, lol like I said, I read enough world news and geopolitics in my NORMAL surfing. Next!

Wow, talking of the Israeli PM, here is a site that wants to indict him on war crimes, for that stuff that happened in the middle of the Israeli invasion of Lebanon in 1982. Hasn’t been updated since September – just be a minute, LOL as a review thing, I don’t want to bring my personal politics into here – although no doubt they will seep in. Well, I guess I can say, since the Israeli’s admit it, that at least 700 people died when the Israelis blockaded a couple of refugee camps in West Beirut and then let their Lebanese allies into the camps. Ah, Sharon was Defence Minister during that time, I thought he was a general on the ground – oh, he was both. OK, curiosity sated, next website – fingers crossed it isn’t political…

Hmm, a CIA sabotage conspiracy looking website. Ah, an Australian nutter, gidday mate – he had photocopied CIA booklets from the Nicaragua Contra war and was selling them as CIA sabotage booklets. Duh mate, and you didn’t expect to have the police come down on you? Eh, there are some nutty websites out there… nothing to see here LOL – please move on LOL. Basically, yes everyone knows that intelligence agencies sometimes do things that aren’t in character with their home nation’s thoughts of themselves (ie life, liberty and all that). Next…

Punk internet magazine is looking like as I wait for it to download. Ah, not an internet magazine, but rehashing a real magazine in the 80s that went bust. From Ottawa in fact. Oh, this is good ‘Nine issues came out of my house’ so hmm wonder how wide the readership was. Another example of the internet being too easy to post on LOL.

Ooh, in French for starters. Has an English link, so let’s go there – a BMX inline X-Game’s kinda team by the looks. Oh, just for FEMALE X-Sport participants. An e-magazine, and yep, looks like a native French writer trying to translate to English. Next!

Hmm, could be a link to a Dutch weblog? All it has is a picture of a girl and a link to an email address? Checking for ANY other links – nope, none at all. I have to have at least SOMETHING to comment on before sending random emails…

Hmm, not just a weblog, not just a tour date thing – is this guy into films or music? Ah, I THINK he is a bit of both, showing something at Cannes? Nope, sorry is over my head… next

Ooh, this is the website for professional cinematographers. Mmm, how do I get into that industry, I have wide vision and imagination for scenery and stuff… yep, looks very much like a talking shop for the pros site.  Yes, I am daydreaming of making movies here LOL – next!

Another weblog. Someone’s daughter had a makeover and is getting married soon. Someone is also talking about web programming by the looks. No excitement in this one, sorry to say. To write a blog you have to be a bit humorous.

LOL, an oldie but a goodie. If you haven’t heard of hot or not you obviously haven’t been online. Post a picture, not a rude one, and see what your fellow humanity think of you, on a scale of 1 to 10. Good clean family fun – I would recommend it – the rating if not actually putting your own pictures on the line of course. Had a smile to myself as the screen came up – have a girl on my opening page who is about an eight I would say. Next!

As I wait for the page to load, please let it be an actual game… Oh, no such luck, another weblog, but the reason for the name is due to the first couple of entries being about US college basketball. Yep, a U.Conn Huskies fan by the looks. Basketball is the one North American sport I can make neither head nor tail of – I love hockey, I endure baseball and football (especially during the playoffs), but basketball always has me scratching my head. I like the Olympic tournament and the world champs but that is about it. Next!

Woohoo, a newspaper. I love reading online newspapers that aren’t the biggies, like The Guardian, or the New York Times, or the Washington Post, I love getting a regional aspect on things. So will be 68 degrees and sunny in Santa Cruz today, what else? Isn’t it a bit up the coast from Los Angeles? Hmm, Highway 1 getting widened, or rather not, as some community anger boils up – oh probably because the way they would pay for it is a sales tax… ah, or maybe it is more up San Fran way – with the whole we are bikers and we hate cars vibe I was getting from the story LOL. Hmm, a mobile home park murder in Watsonville…   hmm, here is a site that says it has the best weather on the net – I will have to test it LOL.

Wow is that an a in the www at the front there? Don’t tell me we are running out of www links LOL. Eh, the best weather in the United States perhaps. Oh mi goodness, they have Canada and the UK as links, but also Iraq and the Mid-East? Well, I guess there are enough soldiers over there that the families want to see whether it is raining or not… lol, I love weather sites, especially with the animating the clouds and rain and stuff. Okies, there will be other weather websites, other days I am sure… next!

Wow, this one is easy – website currently under construction, some ads around, better than a 404 Not Found LOL, if you really wanted to shop by the links you could. No, must stay away from the chocolate search link LOL, had two coffees today but hmm chocolate would be nice… too late I am going to have to hit

Now I am gonna make myself hungry, in this chocolate store in San Francisco. Oh dear, there I went to the ingredients page… ah, is kosher approved as well, that is good to know LOL. LOL I know what to do, will just forward this website on to some friends who are also no doubt hungry this time of day J - next!

Okies, here’s a good start, the warning to US Government and Military agencies – hmm deep conspiracy here methinks. Has gone to a different server to avoid getting hacked as often as he/she was. Let’s have a further look-see around. Hmm, yes very conspiracy – Dubya flew on the same plane as a drug smuggler while TX governor. Al Gore was given money by Dominican drug lords during his 2000 campaign. Halliburton does drug smuggling in Asia. Lots of inspirational but depressingly realpolitik quotes to the side – let’s see what they are doing at the exact moment rather than this old site… wow, oil is going to run out, now there’s something I didn’t know before LOL. Venezuelan oil, US coal, Iraqi prison torture, the US military is/was smug about Iraq, the US grabbed Iraq for the oil, the draft… where’s the alien abduction stories LOL J - next!

Record label site. Anyone on this label that I would know? Hmm, first let’s listen to the mp3s on the front page. Or not as the case may be, taking very long time here. Last news update was in April, so hmm eh, that is OK I guess, not too old if it is a quiet label. I would love to be able to be artistic in a musical kinda way, just looking at these tour dates and thinking what it would be like to tour the mid size towns, like London and Hamilton in Ontario, or Omaha and Des Moines and where the heck is Montclair, apart from somewhere in NJ? Sex, drugs, rock and roll and Montclair NJ indeed J - no band on the label that I have heard of though – next!

Oh gods, one of these sites. Assisted suicide, Jack Kevorkian. If it wasn’t my public duty to review the site, and at least have a second view of it, rather than just first impressions I would back out now LOL. Okies, onwards and upwards… hmm getting a vague idea that it is an Anti site, Doctor Death is the first notion of that… the site is put up by the Detroit Free Press, let’s have a look-see there. Hmm, with the knot at the bottom of my stomach with the assisted suicide thing anyways, wasn’t good to read that some former baseballer was axed, knifed and hammered to death presumedly by his wife – anyone heard of Robert Seaman?

Detroit is in the NBA finals (as I said before, I don’t understand basketball at all). But yeah, back to this assisted suicide page. Yep, anti assisted suicide slant on this site – am still sick in the stomach and I have read enough. Next. Well, maybe not anti assisted suicide, but definitely anti Kevorkian.

Okies, a software company by the looks – have links to patches as news. Lots of reviews about their products, Star Wars and Age of Mythology games, hardware capability and performance checker, 3D driver, graphics cards. Just a quick look in the products page before I drown in techie talk LOL – nope I’m lost, and it could be the games were only getting reviewed here, that the company didn’t actually produce them? My brain is lost – next!

Okies, just looks like one of those sites that lead to other sites. Shopping links and the such. No original content on the page at first glance. Yep, is confirmed in my mind as just a search engine – how do the small ones that no one has heard of, such as this one, survive I wonder? And unlike the last search engine I went into, I am NOT looking at the chocolate links LOL.

Uh oh, a real name, likely a weblog. Ah, is a rock poster seller, not just a blog. We accept Paypal, Visa and Mastercard LOL. More than just a seller, he is an actual illustrator – yay, art, adding something to the world that wasn’t there before – much respect dude… quite an impressive list of clients as well, Radiohead, PJ Harvey, Blur, Bob Dylan, Sports Illustrated, Dr Marten etc etc. Does comics as well, is based in Seattle – a wife, two cats and a dog as well. Seems a nice enough guy, doing what he loves, damn I wish I could do something like that LOL. Ooh, there he is with a White Stripes poster – Seven Nation Army starts off in my head LOL. Next!

A weblog. Again. And the guy is saying does anyone actually read this, should I get rid of the blog side of things LOL. A thought that crosses all our minds I am sure. A bit of writing, a bit of art, a bit of a rant about Christianity, born in 1977 and lived most of his life in Northern California. Has a sense of humour about him, which is good. Plays drums as well as creates websites as a living/pastime. Okies, he has enough of a sense of humour to give him some feedback LOL – be back in a minute. Okay, back and onwards…

The online magazine of Philadelphia baseball. Hmm, let’s see if there is anything good around here LOL. Where are the Phillies in the league at the moment anyways – well this site hasn’t been updated since May – oh no, there it is to the side the more recent games, it is just the weblog that is a bit slowish. Very statistical and everything, but then again that is a big part of baseball as I have seen it. Baseball results, statistics and transfers – hmm, nope not enough to keep my interest, even if it WAS the Mets LOL (yes I’m a supporter of the OTHER New York team LOL).

Hmm another domain that has yet to be sold. Not surprising, because Niue (the nu designation) is a pinprick of a country – 1300 people attached to New Zealand like Puerto Rico is to the United States, or perhaps Guam is a better example. Anyways, apart from the link to Niue tourism (‘not yet ravaged by mass tourism’ – maybe not, but there was a big honking cyclone/hurricane that went through it earlier this year) there’s nothing here – next!

The leading games site on the net. That would be a hard title to live up to, especially since it basically looks like a search engine site, which on second look, yes it is, with the non searchy bit taken up by text advertisements. And that is my twenty five sites for the day methinks – not tired or anything, like yesterday, but hell, I might as well have a go at the real world LOL.
