Cue the Star Wars music LOL - just a comment on the whole it's a new week thing, and things are still on an upward footing. Well, a new week, that is halfway through before I got around to updating the diary LOL.
So what has been happening - Monday nothing much happened, no immediate job calls - no wait, the part time job that I knocked back on Friday came back to me saying one of the full-timers hadn't turned up to training, so the agency were just giving me a call, let me think about it. This remember was the job that only had a six week contract and depending on how you did was how much longer the thing would be extended - sounds somewhat high pressure, and, although the agency has gone down in my mickey mouse estimations, the client itself hmm sounds high stress high turnover kinda environment. Will talk to Cath, the agent, once I have heard back from the three others.
I left a message with the telecoms call centre agency on Monday, but the girl was out all day and didn't call back until about fiveish, by which time the net was back on LOL - damned one phone line households. Just said that the client still hadn't made up their minds about things.
And then the other agency, that I had the interview with on Friday rang and said the client wants that informal chat with you tomorrow - I said I had another appointment as well, and she said well you are the first person I have rung so you have the pick from 8.30 in the morning onwards. I chose 9am, my other appointment was at 11.
So, Tuesday, I dressed myself up to look a million dollars, and then spent five minutes looking for my sunglasses and ended up ruining the million dollar impression by running to the train station and umm feeling hot and sweaty LOL. Made the train I was running for though, would have been tight if I had just walked, so it was all good I guess. Had the interview, seemed to go all right, they seemed suitably impressed, but the thing was I had two guys doing it so aargh no flirting potential LOL LOL. Had a McMuffin (mmm some food in my stomach) and then walked to the next suburb along for the next interview. Only took fifteen minutes which I was surprised with, so left me some time to kill, even after locating the actual office the interview would be at.
So I wandered into a pub, wondering whether they would be showing the Stanley Cup playoff game. No such luck, had Good Morning Australia on instead, not even one of the sports channels or the horse racing, bleah. And even more amazing, I had a Coke, glass bottle and all, but there were about twenty guys in there already deep into their alcoholic cups. Mmm beer is good, but I try to avoid before midday at least - this was 10.30 in the morning...
Second interview went well, but hmm a more formal setting - no doubt because it was a PERMANENT job which are bloody hard to get straight off the ranks of the not employed ranks. My potential boss if I get it reminded me so much of one of my fave bosses in the past that it was easy to just relax within the interview - well apart from the figure out the spreadsheet formula on the spot thing, only thing I think I mucked up on.
As well as the signing I am of sound character thingy, bleah credit checks and sword of Damocles that is all I am gonna say on that account. Not mucked up per se, but umm didn't have a good feeling when I signed.
Yeah, so that is about it for the last couple days - oh the telecoms job agency came back to me saying that the client didn't have a start date yet so the agents were pulling their hair out, going through all the interview process, finding good candidates and seeing them seep away cos of more solid jobs somewhere else. Apart from the two interviewers at the energy company being guys LOL I wouldn't mind either energy or telecoms - hmm both are just as hated by the public LOL. The 11am one would be good as well, but they are interviewing lots of people and won't make a decision until Friday.
And energy company will likely make a decision today (Wednesday).
Hmm, ve vill see (start up the Imperial March music now!)
Spot ya soon
