Random Sites 064 to 075

Not much to get into in pre-search notes today. Reagan, D-Day, Tampa Bay won Game Six…

064 - http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/

Hmm, interesting, the first Australian site I have bumped into. Bleah a government one though LOL. Roads and Traffic Authority, hmm how much interest can there be here? Let’s have a look – highlights are money for roads, rural speeding, and mobile advertising. Major road projects, licensing, demerit points, traffic reports – if I were in New South Wales could be of some interest, by necessity if I drove, but am north of that particular border so next please…

065 - http://tinyurl.com/

Now here’s an idea – do you get sick of those long long URLs that take up about three lines and then get broken and you can’t get to the site your friend wants you to? Well with this site, they apparently shorten those long addresses so that it fits into something umm err tiny. An original, good idea – the internet is useful, for about the first time this ‘journey’. Umm, I don’t usually do this, but the link name was so irresistible, let’s see what it’s about

065a - http://www.ihateclowns.com/

Yep, it’s an anti clown page LOL. And a further link –

165b - http://www.ihateclowns.com/clowntrix/

Matrix parody, clown related. Hmm two minutes of downloading, ten seconds of animation, gee I feel gipped. Good concept though. LOL back to the I hate clowns site though, hmm lots to do, a few games, lots of merchandise if you are retail challenged LOL, and the opportunity of an email address if you so want. Kewl. LOL well the story about why this guy hates clowns is umm a bit disturbing so let’s go play some games, or hmm look at the girls wearing the T-shirts LOL. Lot of interesting links attached as well, but I have gone to the B link for the first time in this story, so will leave it there, and slap some clowns LOL.

066 - http://www.dagsavisen.no/

Ooh, Norwegian site, hmm is it a newspaper, does it have an English link LOL. Ooh, no English but I could play chess through SMS in Norwegian LOL – the pieces still look the same so maybe if I had a mobile phone? 5,000 protestors somewhere, and a story about the Teflon President (Reagan). Football reports, are Norway in Euro 04? Ooh, Jerusalem, Ariel Sharon and Gaza are the same in Norwegian as in English LOL, I can guess the gist of that story… Peter Solberg in a Subaru – I would guess that is the Acropolis Rally story… LOL it is amazing what you can pick up from the context of a story – I know more Norwegian than I thought – next!

067 - http://www.mikevallely.com/

Ah, skateboarder site. This guy must be somewhat famous in skateboarding circles, either that or good with websites. Has an autobiography out and a tour schedule. Yep, he must be famous, he is on the Tony Hawk Pro Skater video game LOL. Lots of seemingly corporate sponsorship – oh, and this might cut his readership, has a John Kerry link as well LOL. Aww dammit, he isn’t accepting emails anymore, is too busy – although I feel a kinda warm glow about all this, because he is one of the people that has made it – awww. And for some reason when I think of skateboarders I think of my first time in Canada with the first truly madly deeply girlfriend and going visiting some of her friends and them playing one of the Tony Hawk Playstation games. Yes, strange but true – that was a very good trip… but not here to open up about myself LOL – next!

068 - http://www.streetbuzz.com/

This site is for sale for a shade under four grand – US dollar amount no doubt. Yep a bit more text around on the site, but is all about domain sales, next!

069 - http://www.brattletheatre.com/

This site is not associated with the Brattle Theatre – hmm. LOL does a good job of advertising it though – in Cambridge, I am guessing in the US, since it has a reference to Harvard as well. And there is a net café right next door Woohoo – unpaid endorsement of course. Yep, has all the acts over the next wee while at the theatre in the schedule part. Ah, cinema, classic and art house clientele… lol is having quite a dig at Boston being a second rate city as well, as opposed to New York or San Fran… hmm a very caustic dig indeed, talking about self loathing colleges and universities and Boston being a squalid little town – umm let’s think who exactly is self loathing here? I can now see why the theatre doesn’t consider it a good idea to be associated with this website. Ah, here is a bio of the site creator – dressing up in cow suits indeed LOL. Ah the official website is at org not com LOL. Oops I just had to hit the only ad link the site had, so onto

069a - http://www.adrenzone.com/

Yep an internet café, well a small chain, that has LAN competitions with other internet cafes in Maine taking up most of the page. I know, I know, I am a sucker for cheap advertising links LOL. Boston, Providence and Phoenix? That would be the AZ one not anywhere in Massachusetts? Big expansion plans LOL

070 - http://www.voogru.com/

From one gaming site to another – this is apparently a Half Life gaming community. Let’s have a look around and try not to get shot. Hmm, not likely, hasn’t been updated since February. Eh, well the site hasn’t been updated, but apparently the gaming is going along fairly alright, 13 people shooting at each other at the moment LOL. Would join them, but the only games I got going on this PC at the moment are Age of Empires, Golf and Mahjongg.

071 - http://www.lovebri.com/

Fun pics, fun videos, fun games – only prob is they are all in German, and no English translation. Let’s investigate further. Eh, I was going to, but then it asked me to download a file, the instructions for the download were in English, but the website had lots of German, didn’t want to sign my life away LOL. Next!

072 - http://the-raft.com/chemicalbros/

Chemical Brothers homepage on one of the music sites I am guessing – taking a while for the page to load. Oh no, nothing to do with Chemical Brothers, just a general UK music site. Mmm, Kelis ‘milkshake brings all the boys to the yard’ is playing at Wembley Arena – Glastonbury lineup has been announced – oh god, I feel old, Oasis, Blur and Radiohead have been put in the Indie Oldies section. Whatever in the case of the first two bands happened to Brit Pop? Mmm, good line up at Glastonbury, Oasis (play the old stuff LOL), PJ Harvey, Groove Armada, Nelly Furtado, Black Eyed Peas (mmm who’s the girl off them whose pants always seem one stitch away from falling off LOL) and James Brown? As in the Godfather of Soul James Brown? Oh, and I got Groove Armada mixed up with Basement Jaxx LOL, easy enough to do…

073 - http://www.ifilm.com/ads/asl/fullscreen/index.jsp?uri=/index.jsp&

Ooh, a film website. Let’s see if there are any standout additions to the usual reviews, previews, actor history, top ten list, usual sorta things to film websites. Must be US based – has movies that haven’t come out here yet already on DVD. Hate that LOL. Ooh, terrorists take over a US nuclear reactor on a TV movie this week – Meltdown, let’s have a look see… not too much info actually. Aargh, Snoop Dog is a pilot on a plane in a comedy movie, abort abort LOL, that’s not one that I feel I wanna watch… hmm, the site does music videos as well, Air has an X-rated music vid somewhere, LOL must go find out more bleah my typical maleness LOL. Next!

074 - http://www.mydrawings.co.uk/

By the way, I am still innocent LOL, the vid wouldn’t download, ah well, better luck next link. Anyways, to this one – looks like that Moby Why Does My Heart Feel So Sad video, or should that be Radiohead Paranoid Android, yeah artwork that good LOL. Think there’s a quiet humour on this site, or at least looks like it from the first couple views, let’s have a look at the whole shebang (nooo, now I have got that Willie Hung off American Idol in my head). The picture Wrong is especially nutty. Yep, quietly nutty is how I would describe these pics. Next!

075 - http://www.columbiarecords.com/

Ooh, a record label I have actually heard of, good good! Wilson Phillips (ugh, hate to admit it but they were the first tape I had bought for me, LOL wasn’t really interested in buying music before 1990), Prince, Cypress Hill (mmm, good party music), Beyonce (need I say more LOL), ah, and of course Columbia has been bought out by Sony. Could go thru the bands alphabetically, to make up for the fact that with all those small labels I didn’t know any of them but that would take too long and be boring. Ooh, it’s Prince’s 44th birthday today, happy bday you freak you LOL. More tomorrow!
