Good Monday Morning!

Hi all - quarter to seven in the morning here in Oz, first coffee of the day three quarters of the way gone, trying to be bright and chipper this early on a Monday LOL...



Another Westerner shot dead in Saudi. Not a good start to my news surfing. Jennifer Lopez gets married again - her new hubby just divorced his wife last week - what is WRONG with that girl? You got a lucky escape Mr Affleck LOL LOL. Atlantis has been found! Apparently in southern Spain, was only flooded rather than submerged... umm if if if - if our understanding of ancient measurement is wrong LOL. Yep, another scientist is saying there are several leaps of faith you have to make for it to be Atlantis... oh, and that's good, this evidence is in one of Spain's national parks - ie, meaning that there will be all sorts of paperwork to overcome to even start archaelogical digging.



We won't mention the cricket, we won't LOL. Or umm, the soccer, or more specifically the Oceania 2006 World Cup qualifying tournament. How on earth did Vanuatu and the Solomon Islands get that good? Where are the scouts to lure these Island players to Europe LOL. No rugby to speak of back home at the moment - the All Blacks play England next week, and amazingly the game will be on free to air Australian TV - yay, I don't need to go to the pub LOL. Oh, and if you are interested in hockey and have been under a rock overnight, Tampa Bay won Game Six in double overtime. Game Seven back in Florida.



Just checked, yes Nixon did get a State Funeral, the last President to go before the Gipper over the weekend, but looks like he didn't get sent to Washington. LOL, very partisan biography on the Nixon Presidential Library website - our valiant ally South Vietnam (after US troops withdrew and Nixon was shoved out of the White House) indeed. My impression of Nixon has always been smart smart guy but he got so bitter and paranoid after the 1960 election - that's coming from someone that didn't live through Watergate though, and hence being cynical about politicians (Iran Contra, Monica Lewinsky, WMD) comes naturally to me. Hmm, last Prez to die before Nixon was Johnson all the way back in 1973, buried in Austin TX.



Hmm, Quebec sovereignty crops up in the Canadian election. Not gonna say nuffin about that rather than just let anyone read the story. And hmm why the hell is Martin out of the country for about a week? He was the one that called the date of the election, the Liberals had another year on their term to go, and he's off swanning in Normandy and Georgia. Shaking my head here.



Okay, am bogged down in good Guardian articles, but will sign off this entry now LOL. Bleah, may have to wait for phone calls during the week again. Fun fun fun...
