Hi all - my first Saturday morning after work in hmm fifteen months, geez it was a long time between drinks (think that is a cricket term, if any of you are scratching your head). Yesterday at work was mind numbing, and it was like a Friday afternoon at school, more eager to get out than sign the timesheet - eep. Well, if I don't get paid for a week shrugs shoulders, I don't get paid I guess.
Got complimented on my dress sense by Jo - was wearing a mustard yellow shirt with a yellow and grey diamond pattern tie. Jo's comment was agreed to by Ann, and was also told that the colour suited me (lol one small step away from puke yellow mind you LOL). Stayed inside for morning and afternoon tea, and only went out at lunchtime, had a Subway with the last of this week's money and then wandered back and sat down and talked to Rachel, Lisa and Sharon - hmm, I just know I am going to get sick of the 'in New Zealand' stories the latter one has - I know that I talk about England, Canada and New Zealand occassionally, but I try to keep it to a minimum, and always feel self conscious when I find myself doing so.
The work training itself was hmm, I am just wondering whether it will last the weekend and will have to be completely retaught how to do things on Monday again. Repetition repetition will work I am sure. LOL always know you have a job when you have to learn internal arcane languages to seperate you from Joe Average, and to make it seem like only the elite (data entry people elite that is) can do the job - S-M, E-M, T-R as three instances indeed LOL. And to keep it interesting a S-M is a complaint - hmm very 1984 Big Brotherish doublespeak - I mentioned it, but no one else seemed to notice - lol, and at this job they can figure out what everyone is doing on their screens, hmm no anti corporate rants on THAT workstation LOL.
My fellow intake, I know I have mentioned my impressions of them before today, but lets have a weekly wrapup, in three words or less LOL - Mel - nice, pretty, punky; Lexie - mature, dry, not really connecting yet; Kim - shy, smiley (she seemed to smile at me a lot yesterday - not sure what's going on there), intelligent; Lisa - nice, pretty, tall, boyfriend LOL well I was MEANING to keep it three words or less; Jo - friendly, Jersey Girl (LOL must use that line on her aka that J Lo movie, when I get more comfortable around her), likes me, or at least my clothes LOL...
pause for breath - Rachel - nice, pretty, funny, boyfriend, best connection thus far; Sharon - loudest (of the group), nice, friendly but cringeworthy (with her wistfulness for NZ); Wayne - seems nice enough thus far, no battle for alpha male going on LOL LOL LOL; Ann, very nice, friendly, quiet...
So yeah, that was a week of work - or four days more specifically, with the Monday off for Queen's Birthday. Will go off websurfing now and give a seperate report of that LOL.
Paul
