Hi all - before trawling the internet for good stories today, just thought I would give a possibly no-link breakdown of yesterday. Morning was the usual of being online, and then me and Dad waiting around for my sister and mother to get back from a charity book fair so that we could have lunch LOL. Had lunch and then sat around the table on the deck for a couple of hours just chatting blah blah, before parents and I were basically kicked out because my sister had a couple of friends around - this house is far too small to have visitors LOL.
Had a bit of a drive around the city, asked Mum why sister was moving out (apparently so that she doesn't have to be clock watching when out, trying to catch the last train - would rather live within taxiing distance - yeah, I thought that was a weak 'official' reason as well LOL), Mum and Dad drove by a couple of for sale places, but they really weren't in the mood LOL - trust me, I would probably STILL be out with them if they were - and stopped in my brother's place. Had a nice visit for about forty five minutes or so.
Came back, and instead of real food (sister's friends were still here) we got pizza. Had been TWO MONTHS since I had last had my favourite take away LOL, so can restart the clock again. Then watched Big Brother, the local Aussie version, and OMG something actually INTERESTING happened on there.
The evictee this week came out, taped his mouth shut, and held up a sign saying Free Da Refugees (I may have mentioned that Aussie's solution to illegal immigrants/refugees is to lock them up in the middle of the desert or on Third World islands), and refused to speak to the hostess, about the usual frothy questions, who was your favourite, who do you think is going to win, that sort of thing. They cut back to a live feed from the house, kicked Merlin off the stage and then were ad libbing as they went. The producers and staff actually earned their money last night, was good to watch, and a bit of interest in the actual show... by the way, I agree that it is an issue to protest over, but you can protest more effectively by actually SPEAKING mate. Or maybe tape your mouth shut for a couple mins but then take it off and start talking about it.
Then hmm watched 2001 A Space Odyssey, they are doing a Stanley Kubrick month on one of the stations here, and hmm I think it is a brilliant movie, but then you have others like my parents who think it is overhyped - they turned off when the antenna was being worked on, what with the breathing within the oxygen tanks being what they called heavy breathing. Was flicking between that and another channel that has the Formula One, before realising that since the F1 was in Canada this week, the timezones were mucked up for coverage (even more so than usual). Set the timer for 2.15 in the morning here, and dozed in and out of watching it, damn that mute button, lol finally turned it off when Ralf pitted and Michael got in front of him...
Okies, now to the entry of my usual daily websurfing LOL.
Paul
