As part of my occasional do some stuff around the house like maybe cleaning up, I have spent most of this evening trying to figure out what photos I need reprints of. Because of the time I threw what I felt were unnecessary pictures out (all the non-top 100 or so of each year) trying to lighten the load to move to Canada. And now I am going through one of my completist phases, meaning I have to get reprints of all the pics that I threw out.
And I discovered I have 116 camera films, from the past ten years. This doesn't include the Big Trip I did in Europe in 1995 (approx 600 photos), nor K's visit to New Zealand in 2001 (of which I kept the best 200). One day, far far into the future, I may ask K to get reprints again, but not for a while yet methinks. Will have to be in an Ultra Completist mood that particular day LOL.
Yes, you read right, 116 camera films. Even if they were all 25 shot films, that would be 3100 photos when I have the complete works, and I would hazard a guess that at least a third of them are 40s - APS films, which were going to be the next big thing before digital blew everyone out of the water, have 25 or 40 types.
And that is even if I have indeed kept all the films - I have a feeling I may have lost a few somewhere along the way. Just looking at where I have been these last ten years, hmm, it's been a bit of criss crossing the globe and all. And yes, I am too tired to put good sentences together :)
I need to write something in the next few days or weeks, whatever, about whether I still have a defensive wall up around me, whether I stay behind it as much as possible, or whether I am as open and receptive as I like to think. Just had a random thought the other day, thinking that at least sometimes I keep the drawbridge up and try to keep people out. Try being the operative word.
But am too tired tonight to even think of starting on such a brain draining topic :)
