Just was going through my music collection on the computer and clicked on the Dixie Chicks' Travelling Soldier song to listen to it. And started to cry, because the sentiments expressed in that song about Vietnam can be directly correlated to Iraq today. I don't cry all that often, but something about the song just got me, right, about, there...
Kinda funny ironic that I was downloading Green Day's American Idiot at the same time though.
Maybe if the Niger uranium story wasn't pushed into the State of the Union address in 2003, maybe 2024 American servicemen and women would still be alive today. But eh, not in the mood to go into politicking just at the moment, just very very powerful lyrics from the Dixie Chicks.
By the way, are they in the US media's good books again at all, thinking back to about the time the war started and one of them said they were ashamed to have Dubya as their leader at a show in London? Just wondering...
