Thoughts of the Day and Other Stuff

Spring has returned. The earth is like a child that knows poems. - Rainer Marie Rilke

The sky is the daily bread of the eyes. - Ralph Waldo Emerson

In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends. - Martin Luther King Jr

Mmm, especially with that last one, hearing one of Luther King's speeches on that linked site. He had a great great voice. And have found a link to a webcast of the March on Washington - I did that as a grade nine or ten History project at school. Or actually no, it's not a link, but my curiousity is piqued now. But they are all great quotes, and they were all said by REAL people LOL, sometimes I wonder how many of those thoughts of the day are just thought up on the spot and let's invent a name...

Had a stonking headache all day, and work was bleah again - but in the sense that I had a headache rather than anything else. Had that 'word' I have been thinking about saying the last couple of days with one of the team leaders, starting off with the 'how am I doing' phrase, and then five minutes in the room with her LOL. The upsurge of it is that in the next reshuffle, which will be taking place in the next couple of weeks, I will surreptitiously (if I have the right word, meaning and spelling) be moved to another part of the floor. Hmm, wondering who my cubicle buddies could be then. Apart from the problem child, I have a fairly good lot around me at the moment.

Highlight of the day I think was feeding a magpie at lunchtime - lol, the whole buying a sausage roll thing, and then the first bite you take of it, you realise you WEREN'T feeling like a sausage roll for lunch. But there was this cute little maggie (short for magpie LOL) and it didn't fly away when I walked up to the seat it was hovering by, and then I just HAD to feed it LOL. It was so cute - and I even saw the vocal cords going when it did its call - have never been that close to a 'wild' bird that sang before. Was a nice lunch, just being under the boughs of this huge tree at the square beside our office building. It is a good place to sit, and that tree just looks around a hundred years old or something - FINALLY got around to taking some pics of the park/square today, after so many times saying yes I should should should, but finally got around to it - just hope I didn't look too dorky taking pics :) they should come out alright though.

Oh, and this development is dangerous, lol they have given us instant messaging at work (only can be to workmates though). Only for work related purposes of course LOL - well, I haven't abused the email so IM could be just as safe.

Hmm, was trying to get an audio clip for MLK on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, free at last thank god almight and all that, but hitting brick walls at the moment.

Anyways, out of here, at least for this entry :)
