I Read The News Today Oh Boy

The English Army had just won the war - eh, getting my Beatles verses mixed up, but yeah, Olympic news from last week, news today let alone this week is suicide bombing in Israel, suicide bombing and school hostage drama in Russia, and twelve Nepalis executed by extremists in Iraq. Oh, and Arnie giving his best at the Republican convention in New York, bleah. And guess what was on top of the local news - the Aussie Olympic team getting home. Oh, there is a silver lining to all this, two new planets have been found outside of the solar system - and these ones are only fifteen times bigger than Earth rather than three hundred and eighteen LOL.

My best friend is in town for a couple weeks, is staying with family but will be doing bits and pieces with her LOL. Family dinner tomorrow, not sure where just as long as it isn't KFC or Maccas, five family members to meet eek - and then Friday meet a few workmates of mine, just for a couple drinks NOT an all nighter - and then Saturday is going up to Steve Irwin's zoo - should be fun, and then bits and pieces for the rest of the time, movie here or there and more dinners - had a thought of fish and chips down on Wynnum beachfront just earlier today - as long as the weather is good, the first couple of days of rain the last couple of days in Brisbane, only had showers since May LOL. Oh, and shopping I guess :)

Work is going well - feeling comfortable in the place, even in the fact that it's so easy to be cynical about large corporations. I feel that I am good at my job as well which always helps, and that I leave 90% of my customers either leave happy or satisfied - am not looking forward to my QA sessions (quality assurance) - they get you to listen to your own phone calls eek, everyone hates their own voices. Not getting to talk to the other newbies as much as I would like, but as long as we can go to the pub afterwards LOL, socialising is still all good. Lisa and Mel are keen for Friday, and Jo hmm Lisa said something about blackmail LOL kidding.

Okies peeps, let's hope I get up tomorrow to some better news than I did this morning. Shrugs shoulders, I know I usually revel in bad news and stuff, but there is such a thing as too much. Looking forward to this doco on ABC TV now, Soundtrack to War, about what soldiers have been listening to over in Iraq. Had a brief view of it on Fahr 9/11 - damn I still need to do a couple reviews LOL.

Later taters

Paul
