Busy Times

Hi all - wow time flies when you are having fun - or have things to do in real life away from the house and computer LOL. Last entry was 1 September, but I guess that is North American All Internet Time Starts Here, so in real Australian time could have been the 2nd? Anyways, onto news and stuff...

Had dinner out with the best friend, five of her relatives and a boyfriend on Thursday night. Apart from the dig of why aren't you going for your Aussie citizenship, and if they come to this country they should dress like us (after seeing a Muslimish girl with a veil) the night went quite well. The restaurant we got to was a nice atmosphere and great food (half a rack of ribs, and half a plate of chicken wings, plus baked potato and a small caesar salad), and South Bank is quite nice as an area of town, so not much to complain about. I would say nothing, but then I'm not the tourist at the moment.

Friday night, it was going out with the best friend and workmates. Supposedly a quiet one, but were enjoying ourselves so it was more than just a couple of drinks - I was surprised at how well everyone clicked, and it was nice to see Sharon out as well :) After the workies drinks we headed off for a movie, but decided to bail and have Chinese instead. V has been having Chinese cravings for about two months and couldn't figure out a good Tassie Chinese restaurant, so we went to one that me and Phoebe and the rest had gone to for New Year's umm 2003 I think. Was very nice, but very filling - went home to V's apartment after that, as we had an early start the next day - I slept on the couch, which only the next morning did we figure out was a fold out bed - grrr, I did my back in as well, and had a mini blackout - eek, not good - blaming the food because if it had been a seizure I would have felt far more crap I am sure.

Off to Australia Zoo Steve Irwin's home base the next day, but the great man himself wasn't in. Peggy, Greta and the kids did their own thing while me and V wandered around ourselves - had a good time, good value, not sure whether it's one of the things you can go back to again and again over a short period of time but it was fun. Would have liked a pic with the macaws but timing wise it would have been tight to pick up the photos an hour later. My tour guide radar was on right though, got there and got back OK LOL.

Sunday was good, went in (had the night at home) and went on the City Cat ferry up and down the river - had lunch at Brett's Wharf (poncy Hamilton area LOL), had penne and that's the last real food I have had the last few days, cos I am just soooooooo full. Then a bit of market shopping, and then off to the museum to see the Chinese dinosaurs exhibit (not as big as the Victoria BC Museum exhibit of the same thing?) and wandering around, and then off to Fortitude Valley to see a movie at Palace Centro. 'Beyond Sunset' Ethan Hawke and some French girl talking about unrequited love and such LOL, very much a chick flick and off to see the Bourne Supremacy next - my choice LOL, or at least something with lots of explosions and blood and chicks LOL.

And that's about it for me today, still have to report a bit on yesterday at work, but today is coming up fast and so will catch you again later.

Pauly
