Yeah, you may remember me saying where did Lisa and Jo get off to? Well, today I learned that Jo fell off some steps, and went to hospital for four hours - banged her head, hurt her arm, sprained her back. Lisa helped her in the ambulance, so yeah, Jo wasn't a happy bunny today, and was only in - she wasn't in yesterday - for the money. Hmm. What can you say to that, apart from give your sympathy blah blah, which I did - it's strange, she can be so loud and mouthy and then so quiet and fragile, I guess it's women's perogative or something.
One of the morning TV shows over here is in Canada courtesy of the Tourist Board I am sure this week, and just before I leave for work in the mornings, I have my 'I've been there' moment - LOL they have been to Quebec City and Montebello and Montreal and Toronto so far on the East Coast, and Whistler and Victoria and Vancouver and Jasper so far on the West. I loved Canada, if I haven't made that clear, but the personal situation hmm, it didn't pan out. Hmm, there's a link to Yukon tourism, now I LOVE snow and glacier and those type of photos, but actually being there hmmm. And the Thousand Islands, all that Lake Country in Ontario and Quebec is lovely.
Oh, that's what I was looking for - about forever since the thing actually happened, and Janet Jackson and CBS have been fined over half a million for that Superbowl half time fiasco - just had an idea, should we fine Donald Rumsfeld for his shock and awe prime time fiasco in Baghdad? Or how about all the soft porn on MTV? I mean, really, all the people that got offended by it, we aren't living in the 1950s anymore. LOL, let's start up a movement for constitutional amendments against wardrobe malfunctions.
It's a lot easier to stomach than the other news on at the moment - all the hostages in Iraq. Yes, let's release a couple of Iraqi female prisoners, oh no, our bosses the Americans say we can't even release one. Two Italians and two Americans executed, a Brit with a cloud over his future, it's all very depressing - Carter got kicked out because of the Iranian hostages, why on earth, no the question is HOW on earth does Bush keep tap dancing around it? Shades of Vietnam AND Iran in the mix, and yet everything's going well and democracy blah blah blah. And I am sooooooo glad I didn't give in to all the chatroom pressure and watch the Berg execution video. Seeing that sort of thing I do NOT need, and glad that when everyone else said have you seen it have you seen it, I thankfully didn't get involved in being a sheep. I would love to be a journalist, or maybe an op-edder LOL, but hmm yeah I think I could watch that sort of stuff if it was my job, I wouldn't like it but I think I could do it.
I go to the Iraqi Coalition Casualty website pretty much daily - the totals they have on the left are solely about the Americans, Brits, Poles Italians and the rest, but the right hand side is just utter chaos from all over the country. Links to stories on other sites, such as a random sampling from today, New Zealand troops home by Saturday, Iraqi scientists still in detention even though there were officially no WMD, Italian and British hostage stories, a US soldier dying of his wounds after having nine pieces of shrapnel in his head, Black Hawk Down, Polish public opinion wants their troops out, fighting in Samarra, car bombings aplenty - when are things going to start improving? It's a simple question.
LOL my Mets site isn't showing the table anymore but just the statistics for the Mets all time or season to season - yes guys, it's time to wrap it up, especially when we are one all in the latest series against the Expos and was a late one run win in the win we had. There's always next year LOL. Hmm, whereabouts are the Cubs this year, the Red Sox are there or thereabouts in the playoff picture, but dunno about the Cubs... off to the MLB site to have a looksee at the GOOD teams - lol, don't worry, I love my Mets, but in a I don't have expectations way - kinda like Crystal Palace LOL, or grr the Canucks - the Canucks are especially frustrating because they are finals potential but no Stanley Cup yet, and not this season either. Ooh, Chicago are only half a game back in the wild card on their side, while Boston are leading the AL. The dream World Series is still alive LOL. Mmm, the Canucks non-NHL season is being sponsored by Tim Horton's - mmm, Timmayyyy (as per the South Park character LOL). Good Canadian cuisine LOL.
OMG, Palace actually WON a match! Oh, but as in 1998, it's in the Cup rather than the League LOL.
Talked to one of my best friends for the first time in ages (on the phone) last night, in Saskatoon. Hiya Leigh, if you are reading LOL, but probably not, she's pretty busy at the moment, work, social etc :) but yeah, always good to hear from as good a friend as she is. And swapped a few new piccies as well woohoo bonus.
OK, think that is enough for the evening - later taters.
Pauly
