Sunday and Beyond

OK, now that I am over the Olympics and the V visit has ended, I can once again go back to my computer a bit more than I previously had had time for LOL. Sunday, to take up from the last entry, went and sat on the pier at the local beach for about an hour in the morning - after catching the train out for the day. Then had fish and chips and sausage in batter and a potato fritter on the beachfront, was very yum. And then was very hot on the walk home to catch up with the parents - just as the V8 Supercar race for the weekend was starting - Dad is big into that, whereas I am more a Formula One fan.

Then went out again after an hour or so to the scrapbooking shop cos V is big into that, and phew just arrived before the place shut, hmm I thought it shut at 5pm but it was 3 instead. Luckily she managed to shop for about half an hour while the owner thought hmm this is a good closing for the day LOL. Wandered back home and had a roast for tea, watched Australian Idol and then had a leisurely drive to drop V off and come back. All very civilised and very nice.

Monday was OK, work was blah, and yes of COURSE your order is more important than anyone else's and of COURSE after I have done all the work you can ring back in and change your mind LOL. Yeah, it started off well though, OMG I won big in the train lottery lol, you know, the mini game I am sure everyone plays that hmm hottie or nottie LOL, hottie to the left of me, hottie to the right, and in front, here I am stuck in the middle with mmm LOL - if I were only Austin Powers and shagadelic LOL. Wanted to head out after work with V but she had gone down to the Gold Coast with her family and was still only part of the way home by the time I lost patience at twenty to six, waiting around town - double or nothing for Tuesday night, as she was flying out on Wednesday/today. Monday, she didn't get back to her unit until 9.00 - I made the right choice to bail that night.

So yes, Tuesday - work was work, blah blah, apart from the fact that I got employee of the week for SOME reason LOL I was rather boggled by it myself - apparently the thing of being available to take work more so than anyone else hmm, like I said, boggled myself. Being a temp though it just means brownie points, not movie tickets LOL. Last night, met up with V after work, had a lazy Kilkenny's at an Irish Bar, before hitting a nice restaurant for some schnitzel with mushroom sauce YUM, and sticky date pudding YUM. Then was off to see The Village, movie - better than I expected, though not as scary. And then back to the apartment for an overnighter - no, not THAT sort of overnighter, just a nice one LOL.

Today, she came into work to have lunch with me and there were tears and stuff, from her, I'm more what's the word, stoic, perhaps - I like that word anyhows, like umm what was the one I was called when younger, laconic, lol I thought it was laid back but it means careful with words hmm. The girls at work, Lisa, Jo and Mel were kidding around with what V and I were up to, but as I finished lunch, V got a big hug from Lisa and Jo awwww. Well, that visit went well, better than expected even, and now LOL it is back onto survival rations - hmm, three movies, one zoo, one shopping centre, three shirts, about six going out meals and four take outs LOL, one book 'darl' lol as the Dymock's assistant called me, must go back to that store LOL - but a lot of enjoyment. Roll up January :)

Reading a really good book at the moment, 1812 Napoleon's Fatal March To Moscow - I love history books that are a good read, this ranks up there with the Stalingrad and Berlin books by Anthony Beevor. Such an awe inspiring but tragic clash of empires - just got to the part where Napoleon marches into Moscow after Borodino - which, surprisingly to me, was a worse battle casualty wise than any of the American Civil War engagements. And I remember (vaguely) being told the building that Napoleon made his base in Moscow, more memorial was Borodino. I've been there LOL!

And oh mi goodness, while I was away in semi holiday land, hasn't there been a lot of news, the Russian school siege, the Jakarta embassy bombing, Iraq sliding further into civil war, Kerry being undercut more and more in the US election - but for another entry, now that I have caught up yay me LOL.

Laterz

Paul
