Civilised

I made bacon and eggs for Mistress, Sir and one of the children yesterday morning.  It was interesting, I had a bit of a stress attack when things didn't go perfectly, which eventuated in me getting a bit snappy a few minutes later.  I really should have retreated to the lounge or another quiet area when my stress levels were going up, but meh, that didn't happen.  Later on in the day Mistress asked what had been going on in that micro episode, and it took her about twenty minutes of scoping me out to figure out the right questions to start asking.  This from the woman who knows me inside out better than ANYONE else in the entire universe, so you can guess how difficult it was for me to articulate what I was feeling and thinking.

But yes, bacon and eggs on a Sunday morning, a win.  I was stressing out and Mistress and Sir were just happy they didn't have to cook.  As well as the usual coffee run.  As well as all the other tasks and concerns I sort out for them.  But that damned fry pan wouldn't let me get the eggs out perfectly.  Meh, I'll stop whinging on the one thing that went wrong yesterday, and concentrate on the fifty billion things that went right.

Sir went out to do stuff, and Mistress, the kids and I went to work cleaning up the spare room, where I will be living.  When it gets repaired of the water damage and such, but at least I now have some storage space, and don't have to live out of my suitcases, and have somewhere to hang my business shirts and the rest.  Especially since I will start work next week - woot!

The kids were especially good at destroying the old, obsolete furniture.  Less good at sanding an old chest - all the enthusiasm in the world and within five minutes of the old elbow grease, child one piked, and child two wasn't interested in taking over anymore.

A couple of loads of washing through the system, and then lunchtime, and then gardening, and then dinner, and then folding washing, while Sir and the kids wargamed.  Was a very domestic day, but also very nice.  As the other book end to the bacon and eggs breakfast, we had apple crumble, custard and ice cream for dessert.  The only thing missing was the traditional Sunday roast LOL.

Oh, and also found an article in the Australian of all places, which resonated very very strongly with both myself and Mistress.  When the columnist wrote that she covered up her wrists and attempted to just carry on as normal, that really really was my situation when I was seventeen.  Scary in fact, it took me all the way back to that scared, vulnerable little child that I was - but not to the extent that I was suddenly depressed in the here and now.

And now a week of, what.  No job hunting required.  A bit of shopping to do.  Was telling Mistress yesterday that I didn't feel 100% about my wardrobe, specifically for not having a suit.  Shopping, which may come across strange to the other two adults in the household, cheers me up.  Though I might have to listen to Mum and not get any new shirts.  But ties, belts, and other accessories may be good to go.  Oh, and a new wallet.  Yeah, that will cheer me up, and a couple of new shirts would just be the icing on the cake.

Last night Sir was trying to remember what he had done with his weekend, as he had both Saturday and Sunday off work.  I dunno about him, but taking Friday into consideration as well, the weekend for me was pretty epic.

I think, or at least I hope, that I have passed the House Elf auditions.
