To Continue...

Back to Alabama's constitutional vote, the poll to get rid of segregated schools from the state constitution failed by 1800 votes. The article goes on to say that that issue got mixed up with another section of the constitution that said that education was a gift from the state, not a right. Which got involved with the whole rising taxes to get better education issue. Which could very well be cover for the original point, if it ain't broke don't fix it (as far as conservative whites can see). Yep, Alabama is still the same as in the Civil War, according to it's constitution LOL.

Hmm ASEAN - Association of South East Asian Nations - had their meeting in Vientiane in Laos over the last couple of days - invited the other nations of the region, China, Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand, along as well. Big thing of the summit from over this way is the Aussie PM refusing to sign a non-aggression treaty with ASEAN, saying that it would put the US alliance under threat. Hmmph, like I'm not the keenest on Myanmar myself, but come on, it is better to sign treaties than not - and as for the thing of trade deals being different to security treaties, would Australia have gotten a Free Trade Agreement with the US if they hadn't sent troops to Iraq? Things to ponder for the morning LOL.
