Hi all, first article to catch my eye this evening is this one, on the police trying to figure out the extent of honour crimes in the UK. The headline one of the column is a Bradford 18 year old who was packed off to Pakistan by her parents and never seen again after a boy dedicated a song to her on a radio station. I know there is a difference of culture and should be tolerant and everything, but not the extent that we allow people to be treated like cattle, well, people, more like women. Has any boy or guy been caught up on the extreme side of honour crime? Grrr.
This is a kinda funny in a sad way thing - an 11 year old in hmm, Bradford again, has had thirteen convictions in a year, plus all the things he did that he can't be charged for under age 10. Anyways, he has been given a restraining order that he can't be by himself out of his street LOL - if he wants to go any further, he has to have a supervising adult - and not allowed to play with kids. Ah well, I guess that is what happens with petty arsonists, thieves and verbal abusers. God help Bradford when he gets older...
Hmm, the US Embassy in Baghdad has the most CIA operatives in it since Saigon in the Vietnam War - not the best of analogies I would have thought. Just reading an NYT report quoting CIA cables that are saying that Iraq isn't going to end up like Switzerland anytime soon.
And on that attack in Jeddah, a) how long can Bush continue to talk the talk of saying that we are winning and squeezing the terrorists even though they keep hitting us, and b) when will he stop trying to tie everything together - Saddam was involved in the WTC attacks, the Jeddah attackers were worried about the Iraqi elections, grrr.
Later taters - quick one tonight...
Pauly
