Not an uplifting start to the day - woke to hear that the Pope has a fever, and has lost nineteen kilos since his throat operation, hmm that was five weeks ago I think? As just a sense of my general compassion, I hope it isn't too painful for him at the moment, and that he has his wits about him (as soon as I start developing dementia or Alzheimers, put me out of my misery please, nothing worse than thinking of losing your memories), but when I think of the Church's crusade against abortion and contraception, hmm no, won't go there. Hope he is at peace and all that.
OMG he is being administered his last rites, as reported by CNN as I write - grr, I have to go to work in eight minutes, and this is something I want to follow lol, sometimes I hate work :)
Prince Albert has taken over the regency of Monaco, as Prince Rainier continues to be in intensive care - Rainier's condition is stable but fragile, but not good enough to run Monaco apparently.
And until the Pope dies, possibly later in the day, the big news is of course that Terri Schiavo finally let go this morning. Now there will be a jointly agreed autopsy, but then the family will start arguing again, where to bury her.
Hmm, as far as I understand there has been only one Pope, so now all the thing of choosing a new one shouldn't be too far off. All the ceremony and such, and not sure how long it goes before they choose a new one...
Hopefully will be a life life life entry tonight :)
