Was thinking quite profoundly mid way through this afternoon, raising my brain from the goopy swamp of work thoughts (sorry customers LOL), but here I was, in a calm, quietish, air conditioned office, being paid for talking to people basically. And I remembered an article I saw on the world news last night, from the Democratic Republic of Congo - a woman was being interviewed, who had seen her father, her husband and one of her sons mutilated, tortured and killed in front of her, with four million other dead from that war and its effects. And I thought, God how lucky I am to be living in the West, and relatively well off, and I can actually worry about issues that don't directly impact me (Iraq, US politics and the like), rather than living day to day.
And about half an hour later I was wondering how the Mets would do in their next game. Sad, huh...
