Let's Start With The NHL Lockout

Slightly more uplifting than the last post - even though one of the best professional leagues on the planet is not going to have a puck dropped for this entire season - good piece from the BBC of all places on how some of the NHL players have transported themselves to Europe, and more specifically for the article Russia. Now if only this part of the world had a semi pro ice hockey league that could attract the on strike players. And the culture shock in reverse, no one speaks English in rural Russia LOL.

Won't mention the cricket, will just link it - we had them 200 runs behind on the first innings with only four wickets left - but you can never be sure of anything with the Aussies when Gilchrist comes in at number eight grrr.

And just to top off the slightly more uplifting than the Rwandan genocide but not by much, another mass shooting in the States, this time in suburban Milwaukee, with seven parishoners (spelling?) dead and the shooter committing suicide. What an uplifting weekend it has been - let alone the news from Iraq, which has barely gained a foothold this weekend, but I am sure has been bad...

Where has all the good news gone?
