Just An Inbetween Kind Of Day

Am sitting here the last ten minutes trying to get going, find some inspiration for the evening - reading about those Mounties being honoured by the (Canadian) House of Commons, hmm, sometimes I feel really cut off, or maybe Canada isn't one of the headline nations of the world, but in all the local and even local version of international news, and I listen to the news radio channel and no mention of the worst day in Canadian policing for 120 odd years. I loved my time over there, and feel much more Canadian than I ever will Aussie, and would so love to get back there again for holidays, if V ever let me LOL, if V and I keep going LOL - hmmph, that was a rambly thought wasn't it. My writing style suddenly reminds me of the Pringles jingle, once you pop LOL...

Just trawling through the CBC website at the moment. I occassionally turn on the Canadian radio stations as well, either CBC (if I can't get to sleep LOL) or the commercial stations. Hmm, and was just thinking it's been over a year since I was last in the country - I don't want to let it fade, but pressure from Certain People may force me to. Sometime or other. Blah blah blah LOL.

Hmm, nutter story of the day one - some Toronto father dropped his daughter off a highway overpass onto the 401 (main Ontario Quebec road - kinda like the Pacific or Hume Highways for any Australian readers), and then jumped himself, while police were trying to negotiate with him. He died but the kid survived, thank goodness... better alive and traumatised than dead?

Caught The Aviator at the cinema yesterday - good movie, slowish starting, remember about half an hour in thinking what would be next week's movie, either Ray or Hotel Rwanda LOL, but the second half really got going quickly. And it got me thinking, if Cate Blanchett got an Oscar for this, hmm it was an OK performance, but then I was thinking what else has she actually done LOL. But she's Australian, so it was close to all you heard about coming up to Oscar time. And Leo actually could pull it off, I was surprised, and yes, Jude Law was in it lol...
