How Far Behind The States Are We?

Title of today means that Survivor is on TV at the moment, the Palau one - they are currently putting together a shower and outhouse, sponsored by Home Depot this week LOL. And American Idol, last episode they got rid of the first two girls and two guys out of the top twenty four - I just may want to be told how far back we are here in Oz, not necessarily what has happened in the intervening episodes :)

Apart from that, not too much happening at Club Pauly the last couple days. Work is as mindless as ever, apart from when the customers are wanting the impossible LOL. Will go out with some of the workmates on Friday, so that can double as my St Patrick's Day thing - LOL St Paddy's Day two years ago was pretty damned fine, on the prairies :) So much has happened in that time, ohhhh, and a couple of days after that the American invasion of Iraq started. So much has happened both personally and worldwise...

Leading on from the St Patrick's thing - I don't see how any Paddy's day can top two years ago, but will try LOL - leading on from that, I can't remember how much of Northern Ireland I have been mentioning, but Sinn Fein and the IRA are at sixes and sevens as to how to staunch the PR disaster that is the Robert McCartney murder. The IRA covered up the murder of a Sinn Fein voter just cos one of the Provos had a temper apparently, and it has gone downhill for the republicans since then.

The IRA released a statement last week saying that it would offer to shoot some of those involved - it was not meant as just a joke, and they were serious about it, dickheads, and, surprise surprise, Gerry Adams wasn't invited to the White House this St Patrick's Day... not even having talks with Ted Kennedy, and Martin McGuinness just made things worse according to the Guardian this morning, by saying that the McCartney family should shut up otherwise things could go badly for them. Since stopping fighting the Brits, the energies of the IRA have gone into becoming the main organised crime unit on the island. The twenty six million pound robbery in December hasn't evoked as much reaction as this murder cover up thing.

Hmm, and while on the British link, not only can't I stand Chelsea on principle LOL, but their manager is such a loose bloody cannon. He accuses the ref in the Barcelona match of being biased, which leads to death threats against the ref, which leads the ref to resign, and then the referee's association say rude things about Mourinho in return, and now the coach is threatening legal action - umm if you can't take it Jose don't dish it out.

On a more personal level, V's father is very ill. He is very elderly and in a nursing home and such, and seemingly typical of V's extended family, they have left her to keep an eye on him basically. From what she has intimated (if I have the right word) he was a hard man to deal with when he was younger, but still, he's old and weak now, and you dump it all on the youngest person grr. So, I might be going back down earlier than I expected - it does not sound good.

Oh, and another aside, there are Queensland corporate games happening sometime or other, and CC, one of the girls at work, was trying to organise a team. Hmm, there is a cost involved, but am sure my company would sponsor us perhaps - volleyball was an idea, until the girls figured out it was beach volleyball LOL - hmm, where's my workmate Uma Thurman or even better Angelina Jolie LOL. So back up plan, well, as it stood this evening when everyone was going was perhaps netball... will keep you posted :)
