Which Movie To See

Hmm, so many movies, so little time - from the drought back home to the deluge here - of course Garden State was over there, but I forgot about the theatre. But they didn't have Motorcycle Diaries back home, Alexander was ruled out cos it was too much of a boys movie. And of course, three good movies started up this week on this side of the ditch - Closer, Sideways and Ray. Will go and see Garden State today, because it is the most endangered of being pulled from the cinemas the soonest LOL. Then priority is Closer, and then three of them are mingled closely in, and then Alexander - yes, it is a boys movie, and yes, it has got 'middling' reviews LOL.

Hmm, a couple of links to follow - this first one is about the Australian 'terror suspect' who just got released from Guantanamo Bay. Talk about being in the wrong place at the wrong time - and now that he has been released, what about bringing back that old fashioned piece of advice innocent until proven guilty? Instead, the Aussie government has said that there is no change Habib will get any compensation for the three years of his life eaten up, and that he will probably be under surveillance the rest of his life. What was that John Walker Lindh's plea bargain again? Must be nice to be able to make up your interpretation of international law and natural justice on the spot, eh Rummy LOL.

And first Iraq link of the day - basically diary entries from the Guardian's correspondent over there, from the start of the Fallujah offensive in November. Makes very depressing reading, but just because it's depressing doesn't mean we should ignore it - or cover it over with overarching statements about how free the country is (to vote, to debate, to bomb, to shoot LOL)...

Looking at the Pizzagate and Strippergate north of the 49th that brought on the Immigration Minister's resignation, now if only I had been a pizza delivery person or stripper, I might still be in Ottawa now - lol, all I wanted was the work permit to come through quicker, or more accurately, for K to accept that it was very hard to get a job and to just wait until I became a resident after a year, instead of saying you MUST get a job asap... bleah, I love Canada but the relationship was on the rocks...

Later peeps

Pauly
