Yeah yeah I know, such inspiration in my title today LOL. First cab off the ranks today is a story I saw in the New York Times yesterday, but had already posted three times so wanted to save it for today lol - there have been dozen major 'incidents' in Chinese cities in the past THREE MONTHS. The one described in the article was a riot that ensued after an official beat a labourer, and said he could have him killed. Haves v the have nots, and the Communist leadership is having the most trouble with law and order since Tiananmen Square. Just what the world needs, China to suddenly fall apart...
Hmm, for some reason don't ask me why, I've suddenly become interested in the Rose Bowl LOL. Michigan Texas seven all in the second quarter - college football is almost bigger than the pros, well, at least it seems that way to me - bigger stadiums, more loyal fans (if you went to college you're a fan for life LOL)... I have picked teams to support in hockey and baseball, I can't stand NBA basketball, but have no set teams for the gridiron yet - I have liked the Cowboys, Broncos and Patriots at different times, I wait until the post season to pick who I am supporting this year - haven't gone to a live game, that's where you pick your lifer teams LOL...
The cricket world is going to hold a couple of charity matches for the tsunami appeal - International XI v Asian XI at the MCG on January 11 (geez, things can happen quickly in the sports world if needs be) - won't have England, South Africa, Bangladesh or Zimbabwe players, as they are having games over that period itself, but the other six test playing nations should have enough entertaining players to make it worthwhile. Would love to be down in Melbourne actually, how often would you get as many good players in one game?
Had a nice comment to my picture post of a couple of days ago, of a sunrise over the Nile. I love to travel and have done quite a bit of it, but not so much recently. I mean, I could go on and on about it, it could be a substitute topic if when I get rid of big stories, politics and everyday kind of entries, but it's been my feeling throughout my life that travel stories are boring to people who haven't actually done the travel - I have in my mind the dreaded slide shows from people who have returned from some place or another, and if you don't have a burning interest in the places, the pictures end up looking the same LOL. Oh, desert pic, river green fields pic, building pic, person in picture in front of postcard landmark pic - the four types of travel pic - well, off the top of my head at least. So, I may mention the occassional trip, and post the occassional picture, but no in depth travel stuff.
Unless of course my readership demands it. Hmm, a blog just starting to get readers, it will take a few more years before I get the regular readership for yourselves to demand anything LOL.
