LOL just grooving it with Alcazar - number fifty on this week's Aussie singles chart - while reading the 'he said he said' of The Debate - mmmm, one on one in the same room instead of parroting speeches and ads for the past however many months. This is the World Election after all - lol I think we should open it to American Idol type voting, so that the really interested people can vote as many times as they like for the full day, as long as they are OK paying mobile charges for it - just kidding folks, I consider this election much more important than a singing competition or even Big Brother LOL.
And here is some US media reaction to the debate - lol, I like Good Morning America's the Kerry team is practically loopy with the way their guy did. Reading what I am reading, it seems he held his own, so that is good for the Dems side, Bush seemed a bit on the defensive - early days of my reading into it yet though, and I could have my first impressions wrong.
Hmm, think I was just seeing a vid of the Republican Convention, but there was a good line in it - some people look at me and see a certain kind of swagger, in Texas we call that walking. Yeah, as Texan as Bill Clinton is a New Yawker LOL, but we won't mention that he was brought up in New England. Hmm, can I watch the entire debate? Well, yes I can, but do I want to. Until Nov 2 I will catch what I can LOL - may take that day off, now there's a thought, well Nov 3 anyhows in this part of the world.
Hmm, here's a story that caught my eye, from the general chaos of the Iraqi (coalition) casualty site - last month in terms of US KIA numbers was worse than both of the months of the actual war, although higher daily toll in March 03 of course, with news of a new offensive in Samarra breaking this morning - anyways, back to this link from that site, one of the Italian aid workers that almost got killed as part of the kidnappings, back in Italy safe and everything, ransom paid, said that the Iraqi resistance was valid. The link is to Al Jazerra, so pinch of salt (similar salt to Fox News it must be said LOL) but the actual interview was with Corriere del Serra, one of the biggie Italian papers. And I don't think the comments are coming just from Stockholm Syndrome. LOL and lively comments at the bottom of the story :) Score one point to Al Jazerra at least, most news pages don't allow comments by readers, or if they do, thinking BBC here, they read them and put the best forward - don't think much editing is going on here LOL, some of it reminds me of chatroom flaming :) bring it on, internet always cheapish entertainment :)
Goodness, and they even have Al Jazeera (sorry about the spelling above) in Spanish LOL. Always interesting seeing the news from a completely different viewpoint to the normal NewsCorp or AOL TimeWarner or even Guardian western viewpoint.
Okies, will post this before it gets deleted or lost, just New York Timesing and Guardianing at the moment, basically on the Debate LOL, first impressions last and everything, and I have those down on 'paper' already.
Til next entry :)
