A Bit Of Catching Up

I didn't get to catch a movie last weekend, grr, and there were a couple of rom com date girly kinda movies that I wouldn't have minded seeing with V - or, at least, they aren't the kind of movies I would want to go see myself LOL - The Wedding Date and In Good Company perhaps. But, as I said, date movies more than ones I would go see myself so the choice this weekend is Kingdom of Heaven, The Longest Yard, or The Machinist. Yeah, it isn't the greatest of choices I know, almost a flip a coin, pick a card kind of selection, and will probably only make my mind up when I get to the head of the line at the ticket 'window'.

Had an OK day at work yesterday, was complimented on my clothes taste by SGR and asked what I was up to for the weekend - little things, I know, but building a friendship there - she is in the same boat as me, has hardly any friends outside of work, so cultivate cultivate Pauly LOL.

Weigh that part of the day up with the two minutes before leaving work hmmph. Now, one of the things that comes with my pitiful self image is this fear of incompetence - I know I am only middling at my job and sometimes I stuff things up, but I took a call the other day for a product that I know nothing about. Panic mode sets in, I take the customer details as quickly as possible, get her off the phone and THEN start investigating what she wants. Realise I have no idea how to provision that order, so there is a failsafe option with our system that you can reassign due to 'insufficient skills', so I do that, instead of immediately send it to our own internal complex order team.

Two minutes before I am due to go for the day, and indeed after I had signed out, the request bounces back to us as an email request and a girl who sits close by gets it, sees I have done it, and says where's the information Paul. Now, I have more information on it than some other orders I have seen, but in my stumble to assure the customer that we will get onto it soon, without fully investigating the product she wants, my notes are a bit light in that regard.

As I said, I have my own internal fears that I am incompetent blah blah, but when that incompetency is found out, and especially it being a last thing on a Friday grrr. My self worth and self image just fall through the floor that I have obviously sawed a hole in for my own downfall LOL. Was thinking of going to the bar for a quick beer or something, but felt shattered and just fled home instead - well, to the train station at least, once I got my head in the Economist I started to recover.

Hmm, Big Brother - just a quick one, because for me, the show is going through one of the usual quiet patches where you can glean all the relevant info by maybe watching two, perhaps three shows a week - and watching meaning having on in the background, receiving information by osmosis as it were. Dean, Michael and Christie up for eviction this week - think it will be Dean that goes, but as I said earlier in the week, his argument with Replacement Rachael was the first time this season that I have warmed to him. Should keep him in there just for his defence of relationships LOL, do we really want to see all these single brainless clones in there?

Michael is annoying, but not in the way that will get him thousands of angry people voting LOL. Christie, hmm, how to describe her, is brainless in a usually endearing way, not a threat to get thousands of angry votes either - and probably plays well to the number one demographic BB goes for, teenage girls.

Rachael is a loudmouth and already causing a lot of 'confliction' - she should be very careful about what she does the first week she gets nominated, she could attract a lot of negative voting. Vesna seems nice enough at the moment, if a little naive - lol, oh they take their clothes off in the shower, how amazing LOL.

I don't know about Kate, I think she is playing under the radar and is doing her natural nice thing, but don't think she really contributes much to the house (apart from the task BB gave her this week) - the boys in the house seem to think she's hot, rather than just pretty. Maybe she's finally showering naked or something LOL. Hotdogs is growing on me, but he had a long way to get to likeable in the first place, and is still not there LOL.

Geneva is an interesting character/person - she annoys me sometimes, but I like her sometimes as well, most of the time she doesn't register with me. Still to make up my mind on that front. Tim, hmm, seems to have abandoned his lefty politics and such, to either flirt/obsess over the girls, or to get the protective wall around him with the bullying.

Glenn and Michelle, hmm where did that come from? Out of left field, it appears LOL. One minute he's groping Geneva and the next it seems he is reassuring Michelle that her boy isn't going anywhere with the replacements. And still have to make up my mind on the twins, their personalities keep cancelling each other out in the coverage at this stage, nothing to vote for or against as it were, if they ever come up for nomination.

At this stage my top four would be Kate, Tim, Glenn and the twins. Hmm, so much for a short one eh LOL.

More a bit later
Pauly
