From The New York Times Today...

I like most of the New York Times columnists, but over the last few months, especially with Maureen Dowd being on book leave, I have developed a taste for Frank Rich. Today he has compared the President's fire and brimstones 'Iraq is part of the Global 9/11 campaign' speech on Tuesday night to the War of the Worlds from Spielberg and Cruise.

Good piece, as always, but the icing on the cake had nothing to do with either the speech or the movie. It had to do with calling the WTC replacement the 'Freedom Bunker' LOL - if you haven't looked carefully at the plans for the rebuild, the first twenty stories will be windowless and covered in concrete and other bomb proof substances. As another piece I read earlier in the week, again by the NYT I think, if they had dropped a few stories of the building, it wouldn't be as attractive a target - hey, maybe we will bomb Pittsburgh or the Empire State Building next time. Hmmph.

I better shut up now before I say something my brain isn't set for at the moment - am more set for listening to music, doing tonight's cooking (Mexican chicken casserole, if it tastes good, I may post the recipe LOL - hey, recipe posting is just as mindless as any number of memes I have seen around, if I have the terminology right) and watching sport, Formula One on later in the evening. After Big Brother and the Live 8 highlights LOL. Three conflicting thoughts in a row, brain, will, explode LOL.

Later peeps
Paul
