Both As Bad As Each Other

Hmm, the wonders of being in a 'swing state', getting multiple calls from politicos every day, such as follows from the Republican side of things (don't worry about me being partisan here, I'm sure the Dems are just as bad) -

'Sharon Retos, a volunteer, has a party loyalist on the line who is having trouble persuading his wife.

"Oh dear, oh dear. Remind her of 9/11. Remind her of partial-birth abortion," Ms Retos counsels. A ban on late-term abortions, a staple of the Christian conservative agenda, was signed into law by Mr Bush in the teeth of concerted Democratic resistance.

"You know her sensitivities. You hit her on partial-birth abortion. You just keep talking to her. We'll win with or without her vote, but we sure would appreciate it." '

And here is some humour for the day - the US won't be sending back Chinese Muslim detainees from Guantanamo because -

'The U.S. government announced last week that it won't send home members of China's Muslim Uighur minority — who are being released from detention as possible terror suspects at Guantanamo Bay — and is instead trying to give them refuge in another country.'

Hmm, Guantanamo detainees getting refuge in a third country - oh, where on earth where to start. Freedom is on the march in Iraq, maybe they can go there. If they aren't terrorist threats they could go to the States - or maybe not, so what did you do between 2001 and 2004 that question cropping up in a job interview LOL.

Good op ed piece by Ms Dowd in the New York Times here, about the terrorist vote, for want of a better name, on the election. Dick Cheney and his mushroom cloud talk hmm what a fear election the incumbents are trying to play this as. Yes, Maureen, we all really feel safer under Bush Cheney LOL - the last sentence of her article I'm referring to. And, apart from that one day in Ohio or where ever it was, whats happened to Bubba? Back in hospital perhaps?

Okies, that's enough for the night I think - later taters
