BBQ Reminiscing

Yesterday was a good BBQ day - not too hot, but warm enough to wear shorts LOL. Wandered around to Jo and Janet's place just after midday - nice house, for a new one, the section needs a bit of developing though - good for soccer, but needs more shade. Had some carrot and dip while waiting for the others to turn up - god, I have always been unfashionably early LOL, well almost always, to events such as yesterday.

While Janet, Jo and I were getting hungry, the other two, four, six were taking their time. Jo decided to put the meat on and I think that is what attracted the others - Lisa and Azza and Nugget (staffie puppy) and Mel and Lennie and Timmy (the kitten). I didn't find a kangaroo on the side of the road to bring along, nor a partner LOL. Not on the side of the road of course LOL LOL.

So once the others turned up, Jo was busy playing host and, being the one with least to do, guess who took on the BBQ duties LOL. I said to Jo, I didn't want to be typical male about it, but I was just there I guess. The food was highly complimented, even though it was more well done than medium LOL. But I hate taking praise, don't ask me why but I almost always just shrug it off - anyone could have cooked the same or that sort of thinking yesterday at least.

Then it was just sitting back, drinking, smoking, playing mini soccer, hammocking - nice, relaxing afternoon, even though I felt I should have left a couple of hours earlier than I did. Jo and Janet went out after we left to see a mate, more wine apparently - Jo was still feeling seedy this morning. Mel and Lennie left fairly early and had had a big Saturday night so weren't drinking yesterday - Lisa and Azza stuck around and gave me a lift home (sometimes not driving can be so inconvenient LOL), and I had a nice sleep and woke up pretty good this morning.

Work today was a bit of a 'mare (as in nightmare) - one case especially, asked five different people their opinions on a case, five more senior people than me, and five different opinions grrr. Tomorrow LOL. Other than that it was VERY quiet in the office, I thought it was only Victoria that made Melbourne Cup day into a four day weekend LOL. Should be quiet again tomorrow yay, everyone watching the horse races.

Okies, off for some news stories websurfing :)
