Has it been this long since I last updated LOL? Actually, I'm very annoyed at the moment, just came in here and realised the last entry I put in hadn't come through. Was describing a dizzy spell I had at work, and I was sooooo afraid that I would either flake out or have a seizure at work. We were in a stuffy room with funny chairs that lifted your thighs up so it felt like you were falling, and I had a dizzy spell, felt like I was falling. Scared the hell out of me, and went and lay down in the sick room for about half an hour - was feeling OKish, but not to the point of moving my head suddenly. Went back to training, but as soon as I sat back into that funny chair, I felt all naseuous again, so I was out of there. Got home early and had a quiet rest of Friday and Saturday, my head was still feeling funny.
Sunday, went and saw Fahrenheit 9/11 - good movie, for my sort of taste, but don't go unless you are interested in US politics, the war on terror, or the fate of Western civilisation beyond your suburb or town. Will write a review of it sometime or other. Along with I, Robot LOL. Sometime or other. And also bought a computer game - along the lines of brainless computer games are more entertaining than brainless internet chat rooms LOL. One of those let's take forever to play it empire building games. Kept me offline most of last week, which may not be a bad thing, well apart from a fan's - OK, we won't go that far, a reader's - saying I need to update my blog - thanks Frankie yay I have ONE reader LOL.
Last week at work was pretty dead. Was on new stuff to learn, but there was hardly any demand for it from the public last week - or at least the easy stuff that could be done by kindergarten level staff LOL. Thursday was the absolute worst, the requests had basically ground to a halt, well either that or were to be reassigned to another section of the company, not us.
Then went out Friday. Almost everyone made it, apart from Wayne who had his girlfriend and two year anniversary to celebrate. So it was me and eight women LOL. Eight WORKMATE women, so off the agenda, or at least supposed to be. Eight TAKEN women, so yeah, that beats the workmate proviso in the don't touch LOL. But most of them went home pretty quickly - or at least left the bar. Surprisingly, Rachel, who we were basically out to celebrate her bday, was the first to leave - had a dinner to go to with a couple of her friends or something. Then it was Lexie and Sharon to go, still pretty early in. Anne went at six, and Kim, who I was actually having a really good convo with, decided that even though she was enjoying herself, she had to go pick up her sister at the airport, who is off to England for at least a while after this week. Started talking about Fahrenheit 9/11 so yeah, it was probably boring to anyone that listened in (we basically agreed LOL). And then to dinosaurs, and Big Brother, and yes, hope to have further convos at a later date.
And thus it was the Usual Suspects (Good Good movie by the way) - myself, Jo, Lisa and Mel. We got a few more beers in, and then wandered out to Fortitude Valley. Went into a couple of bars along Brunswick Street, but the first Jo and Lisa seemed too intoxicated to get into, the second was too quiet, and then it was off to Mel's local again. Mel went off to play pool, while me and the other two got on the dancefloor - unlike the other week I have no idea what the actual songs were, but the beats were good, and yes, enjoyed myself thoroughly. Mel's partner turned up, and she left about eleven o'clock, and us other three left the bar soon after I think. We went to a pizza hole in the wall shop thing, had a bit of pizza, and then we got to the train station in time for the last trains. Jo was well happy, and wanted to keep going I think, but Lisa and I made sure that she got on her train (northern suburbs) OK, before going to the other platform for ours. Got home at about half one in the morning.
Woke up at quarter to seven in the morning on Saturday - can never sleep long after a big night out, and had a throbbing head. No, not that one unfortunately LOL. Was thinking of going out to watch the rugby (on a TV in a bar, the match was in Sydney), but as the day went on, the head got better but not good enough to beat a live on free to air TV telecast. Was a really really good good game, although the ABs lost, it was a good hard real rugby match, lots of biffo LOL, and could have gone either way right up to the end. And it will be hard for either of the Anzac teams to beat the Boks at home, the Boks are really impressing me this year. So will come down to bonus points away - veryyyyy interesting.
Yesterday, didn't do much, was computer gaming again - yes I know, sad sad, but gotten the initial rush out of it, so could be fifty fifty which is more entertaining, the net or the game LOL. I was hardly on at all last week, and the only thing I really missed was my fix of news five times a day LOL - especially breaking news, you read one Iraq story this year you have read them all. Sad but very true.
Today, was soooooooo quiet at work basically. We are on a new thing, but we couldn't be until the boss had caught up with her emails. Part of the morning was catching up with the weekend - especially so for three of the girls (whereas I was trying to do the work and social life divide thing, got called in for a bit of reviewing, and a pat on the neck - which while didn't quite throw me, it was a friendly touch, has made me think a bit LOL). And yeah, that was about the highlight of the day - finally got around to training in the afternoon, NEVER a good time for training. Hit the two o'clock wall and never really recovered. I am sure we will be fine when we do some REAL hands on training.
And that's me basically caught up for the last week and a bit - mmm four days to go until the Olympics. Yes, I am an Olympics nut lol, bring on the curling, volleyball and wrestling LOL LOL. But the ideals behind the games are somehow even more important than what actually happens - the two weeks every four years where every country has a chance of doing better than they have before - personal or national best's I'm talking about, the golds are already all wrapped up LOL.
Good to be back
Pauly
